ABOUT ZMBŠS

Community of music and ballet schools of Serbia (ZMBŠS) is a voluntary, non-governmental, non-profit professional organization that brings together music and ballet schools from Serbia. It was founded in 2010. year with the aim of uniting, on the principles of reciprocity and solidarity, common needs, interests and development directions in the field of music and ballet education and upbringing.

The full name of the organization reads: Zajednica muzičkih I baletskih škola Srbije / Zajednica muzičkih I baletskih škola Srbije / the Association of Music and Ballet Schools of Serbiawhile the short name is: ZMBŠS / ZMBŠS.


ZMBŠS achieves its goals through the work of Delegates and community bodies, while fostering a culture of dialogue, understanding and joint action. The activity of the community is based on equality of member schools and their representatives, improvement and harmonization of the work of music and ballet education, as well as development of cooperation with related associations, organizations and communities in the country and abroad.


Special attention is paid to protecting the rights and reputation of member schools, strengthening the professional and social role of music and ballet education, as well as creating conditions for the results and values of this education to be available to all citizens, especially children and youth. ZMBŠS also encourages international cooperation and implements other activities of importance for member schools and society as a whole.


According to its organizational structure, manner of operation and financing, the community is a unique organization of music and ballet schools of Serbia, which, as such, represents the interests of schools of Serbia within the European Union of music schools/European Music School Union (EMU) and other associations. 


Membership in the ZMBŠS is voluntary. In addition to schools with the status of founders, all other music and ballet schools of Serbia can also join the ZMBŠS under equal conditions. The schools, Members of the community, are grouped within three regional assets of music schools and one asset of ballet schools of Serbia. Out of a total of 76 music and ballet schools, all are community members.

The governing bodies of the community are the Assembly, Presidency and supervisory board. The community presidency is the collective executive body of the Community Assembly. Since 2014, the president of the community is Slađana Šegavčić, director of the Music School Davorin Jenko.


The community shall have the status of a legal entity with the rights, obligations and responsibilities established by law and its Statute.
